The Culver-Stockton College Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) and Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Chapters are proud to present to you the official site of the Duel on the Hill! Duel on the Hill is a case study competition that assists high school students in the development of marketing, economic, team-building, presentation and personal finance skills.
Three weeks prior to the event, each team will be given a case study, all of which are identical. Students will have three weeks to research and prepare a reasonable, workable, and creative solution to the problems based on the situation, economics, geography, and resources listed in the case study. Students will then present their plan to a panel of judges at the event. The top three teams with the strongest presentations will receive awards.
This event has proven to be an awesome learning experience for last year's competitors as they were challenged to think critically about topics which are both practical and highly influential within the business world, such as money management, marketing, and franchising. Last year's teams set the bar very high with the development of marketing plans and in-depth research into the utilization of a properly developed business plan. We look forward to seeing what our newest crop of bright and talented students are able to devise. Students will also have the opportunity to tour the campus, speak with a student panel, and learn more about our impressive business division.
Please be sure to take full use of the resources which are available on this site including a practice case study, rules, and tips for success. If you have any questions, please contact Culver-Stockton SIFE/PBL Advisor, Mrs. Jeanne Johnson, at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also post comments or questions on the Contact Us page.
Thank you for visiting our website and we look forward to seeing you at the Duel!
